Kyle wrote on Monday...he sounds like he is doing well and always seems cheerful and positive. He said nothing much has happened lately just the same old thing. He hasn't received any of the packages we've sent yet, his companion told him it can take up to a month before they get them.
He said that they were going to make french toast for a family there that had never heard of it before! He said it was going to be interesting to see what they think of an Americanized dish. He said he would update me on that next week! He said one of the meals they eat over there, that is considered a delicacy, is called Qui. It's roasted guinea pig and his companion told him if someone cooks it for them they have to eat it. He said luckily since it is considered a delicacy they don't cook it much in Loja.
He said that him and his companion have set some goals that they want to try and accomplish before his companion leaves. He said he is sure that his next companion will be Latino and that he knows it will be hard, but also knows that it will help him to learn the language even quicker.
He also said that he is so glad to have such awesome parents and an awesome family that supports and loves him! He said there are so many missionaries that leave home and don't hardly even write or talk to there parents for the entire 2 years that they are gone. He said he loves his family and he doesn't think he could be there without the awesome family that he has and the support that we all render! He is very excited to call home for Mother's Day too!
