Change 13 Week 2

Hey everyone! This week was actually pretty good here for me and Elder Flores in our new sector. Me and him are going to get along great, and we're really excited about the work that we're doing here. As it turns out he has spent his whole mission in one of my old sector so we we're able to talk a whole lot about the people and the things that we both did there. He's a really cool kid and something that I found out this week is that he's 18!! I had forgotten that in Mexico missionaries can leave when they're 18 and he caught me by surprise. Anyway we worked with some of the people that the sister missionaries left for us, that they had been teaching but we found out fast that they really were used to talking to the sisters. I've come to realize that that's going to be a difficulty here in this sector because we're realizing that for a couple years there's only been sister missionaries and now that we're here the members and a lot of the investigators are really sad and not wanting anything to do with us. Luckily me and my comp are pretty good about gaining the confidence of the people so we have been working hard to get them used to us being here. On the up side we found this one guy who is 18 and is going to be baptized the 11th of this month and he's awesome. He likes going to church and I think that he likes us a lot more than the sisters. The members are going to have to realize that we're here and are going to be here for a while and that we work different but we're going to have success no matter what so I'm excited!! We also found an awesome family that is really excited about us teaching them and coming to visit. The family is composed of non members, in actives, and active member so we've got a lot to do and they are the best!!! Anyway I have been good, still have yet to receive the paper that tells me when I'm coming home and all that but soon enough. I have been trying to get my hammock set up in my house but there is no one here that has a drill or knows how to use one but that's something that I'll still be working on!! I'll take pictures real soon but I do have some to send home today!! I love and miss you all tons!! Have a good week and don't forget to write! ELDER WILSON

Change 13 Week 1

Hey family! Well this pday isn't going to be like normal and I wont have all that much time to be writing because I am here in the terminal waiting for my companion. Last night we were waiting for the call to tell us who was going to get changed but it never came and I was really happy because I wanted nothing less than to stay in Centenario. I went to sleep happy and I was excited because I was teaching this lady that's going to be baptized this week there. Anyway this morning they called and I had to get up out of bed and start packing, I wasn't happy because I didn't wanna go but it's normal for me so I don't care anymore. Anyway I'm here in the terminal and my companion is coming from outside of Guayaquil and I have to wait. I am going to be opening a sector that had sister missionaries, they both got taken out and I'm going there without knowing anything or anyone to work. This is going to be an interesting change, I'm sure it will be good because I have learned a lot of good things about this sector, so I hope we will be able to have success. I'm going to be here waiting a while, so I imagine that I will be able to write a little later but for now I just wanted to get my general email out so you all know what's going on. Me and Elder Gomez had a good change and we were really excited for this week because a really great lady is going to be baptized! I worked soo hard with her and I was really looking forward to baptizing her but I guess it's someone else's turn to baptize my convert. Aanyway in all not that much going on, I don't really know anything about my sector or the people that I'm going to be teaching but I will just have to wait and find out. It's going to be a long change opening another sector. Anyway I have been able to meet up with some friends here in the terminal and I will be taking some pics to send home next week. I hope that everything is going well, I know that this time of year is always crazy for everyone working and vacations and stuff. Anyway I love and miss you all tons. If you don't hear from me later this afternoon don't be offended, it's because something happened. Although I should be able to write a little later. Love you!! Change 12 Week 6

Hey this week was good, we have been working in a trio or in other words I now have 2 companions because one went home. Last week a good friend of mine went home to Argentina and his companion is now working with us in Centenario and we're working with him in his 2 wards! Normally a pair of missionaries is in charge of 1 ward and we never leave that ward until we get changed but now we've been working 3 wards that are huge and it's been a little rough on my feet. We have had to share our lunches and try and get to teach all the investigators and converts but it's been a long week. Not just working 3 wards but there big, in this part of Guayaquil the wards are huge because the attendance is low, but it's cool. I like when we don't have anything to do being able to just go to another sector and work with people that they have rather then walk around looking for new people or wasting time trying to get references. All together it's been interesting and really tiring, but we're getting used to it and we are thinking that all will go back to normal when the changes get here this weekend. We're in week 6 of this change which means that the next time that I write I could be in another part and with another companion. Who knows, I guess we will just have to wait and see. This weekend we got lucky and had 5 investigators in church with us and even the zone leaders were suprised because that's pretty good for where we are working. Me and Elder Gomez are doing good, we enjoy working together and we're trying hard to help as many people as we can but there hasn't been any new people this week because there's no time to contact. Anyway my 2 companions didn't get any mail this week and so I probably won't be online very long. Thanks for writing me everyone this week I really appreciate it!! I love and miss you tons!! Change 12 Week 5 & New Pics!

Hey! So this week was pretty cool, I feel like I just wrote and now I'm writing again. I guess it's true because we did write on Thursday but time just seems to come and go! This week with my comp not being able to go work we did a lot of relaxing and I got to catch up on a lot of lost sleep! That was nice! Today my comp has been able to go out with his hand the way it is and we're excited about that because we're going to be able to work and get some things done. Last week I taught one lesson and it was with my district leader, he helped me out because it was a lesson that I couldn't bail on. On Saturday we went to a farewell for my district leader who is going home this Thursday, he has over 25 months in the mission because he extended. We went to his chapel and played some sports and it was AWESOME!! I had a great time, we played soccer and there was a ton of members that showed up and even though I'm really sore and almost can't feel my legs we enjoyed it and are looking forward to playing again with the young men and women for a ward activity in our ward. On Saturday we had to go see our investigators so we could have some people in church with us, and we ended up getting 3 of them to come without even visiting them once throughout the entire week. I thought that really said something about the people that we have in our program. Today is my district leaders last p day so we went into town and went to some flee markets and I got some sweet stuff! He wanted to buy magnets for family and stuff but I got a hammock and 3 new soccer jerseys to have when I come home. Being with a missionary who was once my zone leader for such a long time and now seeing him go home is kinda sad, he's a good friend and a great missionary. Also it's made me think a lot about when I'm going to be packing for the last time and having farewells and stuff. It's been a rough week and he still hasn't even left. This week we are going to start working and hopefully we will be able to rescue some of the old people that we had so we can get the progress back and going. I hope that everything is going well for you back home!! I love and miss you tons!!!! Change 12 Week 4

Hey! This has been the weirdest week ever, we have been doing nothing this whole week because of my comp and now we're having pday on Thursday. I can't believe that time has gone by so fast, it seems like I just got changed back here to Centenario and I've now been here for 10 weeks!!! Anyway this Monday me and my comp went out to work like normal and then he had an appt for something that he had on his hand. He had like a bunch of little warts or something that he had to go get burned off and he did. But we didn't know that it was going to be so painful or that it was going to come out looking so nasty. The doctor froze my comps hand in every little spot that he had and then came water wart things like when you burn yourself and so his hand looks like something that I don't even want to try and describe. We haven't been going out to work this whole week and I'm starting to get worried about my investigators and my program. We failed a lot of appointments that we had set and today's lunch because of our trip to the temple that I didn't know about so I'm a little stressed. We didn't think it would take so long for my comp to heal but his hand still looks like a witches face basically. Anyway I'm good, I have been able to study a ton and catch up on some sleep not working at all this week but I'm ready to get some things done. I'm probably going to go out and work with my district leader today so we can get some lessons taught and some people committed to going to church. We have the people we just need to get them ready for church and for baptism. We're looking forward to having 5 baptisms this month even though the last week of this month falls in the next change I have to do everything that I can to work hard and get people ready in the next two weeks!! I know that everyone is on vacations and all that so I hope that everything is going well! I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July. I did absolutely nothing but I was thinking about going out in my red tie, with my white shirt and blue pants all day! I love and miss you tons!!
