FYI
Kyler sent a follow up email to the one he sent earlier and said that they had an orientation today and they were told to tell their parents NOT to send any packages to him while he's at the Peru MTC and to wait a few weeks and send them to his mission address. He should have that address for me next week. (It might be the very last address on my last post, but I'm not sure.) Apparently they make them go to the consulate to pay for and pick up any packages and it's a huge hassle and it's very expensive. So he said to please let everyone know to wait to send any packages.
Kyler says hello from Peru!
I just got an email from Kyler!:) He made it to Peru! He said they are letting them email their parents, sleep and play sports today even though their Pday isn't until next Wednesday. He said he has a good feeling about this place, but it's lonely. He said it's very emotional being away from family and constantly thinking about everyone all the time and that he's going to find things to keep his mind off of things so he can work hard. He said he is going to do his best to learn the language while he's there and secluded. He doesn't know the address there yet and he found out he can only mail letters one day a week...he said that is dumb lol! He said he feels pretty clueless with everything seeings how his companion doesn't speak English and everyone around him is Latina. He said it's scary, but he's going to do his best and he said to tell everyone hi from Peru!
I called and got an address to the Peru MTC from Salt Lake mission office and they gave me the following address. I think the last address is for when he actually is in Ecuador and out of the MTC, but I'm not 100% sure. I will let you know if the address is different when we hear from Kyler.

Kyler is on his way to Peru!
We just got a call from Kyler! It was so great to hear his voice and actually get to talk to him! He is waiting for his flight to leave Salt Lake to Atlanta, GA. He arrives in Atlanta at 3:35 pm and leaves at 5:15 pm. He said he won't get to Peru until about midnight tonight and wasn't looking forward to such a long flight, but happy to be able to sleep LOL! He said there are about 20 missionaries going with him to Peru so he'll have company. He is thrilled to be moving on from Provo and hoping the food is as good as they say it is!
I can't believe he's only been gone for 3 weeks, it seems like it's been so much longer! It was so great to hear from him!

Only a few more days left at the Provo MTC!
Only a few more days left before Kyler is on his way to the Peru MTC. I went onto www.dearelder.com today to see about sending him a letter to the Peru MTC. It is free like it is to send one to the Provo MTC, but it is delivered through the "pouch" system. I have included some info the website offers on mail delivery to the Peru MTC below. I sent him a letter to the Peru MTC today. (It doesn't ask for a MTC Mailbox # or anything, just his name.) We'll see if he gets it and how long it takes to get there. I talked to a gal at the post office and she said it can take up to 3 weeks for a letter to get to Peru. That sucks!
The Pouch Department only sends one package per week to each mission. The deadline on the DearElder website to submit a pouch letter is 12 midnight (MST) on Sundays, which is technically 12am on Monday morning. We print, process, and deliver your letters to the Pouch Mail center in Salt Lake by 9am on Monday. The letters are sorted by mission and mailed out on Tuesdays.

Playin' Wii
The last weekend Kyler was home we decided to have a Wilson Family Wii Night! Oh what fun times we have together!
Kyler kicked his dads butt! Notice the grin:)
Luke & Kyler
I am horrible at Wii, Kolten on the other hand is a pro! As you can see from his facial expressions (in the corner) he is thrilled he beat me yet again!
Diesel was trying to figure out what the heck we were all doing running around like idiots!
Yeah we have no idea what we are doing! I'm pretty sure I beat Matt at tennis though!:)
Letters from Kyler
Today was pday so I got an email from Kyler! Sounds like he's doing really well. He is very excited to be moving on to the MTC in Peru next week. He is loving all the letters from everyone! He said he gets the most mail in his district by far and he loves it being that way:)
We also got a couple letters from him in the mail today. It's nice to hear how much better he is doing now compared to the first week he was in the MTC. He said they got a new teacher today and the call him Hombre de Steele which means Man of Steele. He said he looks like Clark Kent (Superman) and his last name is Steele LOL. He said he is awesome! He also said he thinks his Spanish is improving, that he is able to make small talk in Spanish better. He said he is excited that he is learning such a cool language and can't wait until he can speak it fluently. He is a little nervous about the fact that once he's at the MTC in Peru there is no English (that's what he is told at least), but he can't wait and hope he gets a native companion.
He said he's been working out, that he needs to lose a few pounds and get his 6 pack back LOL. Before he left he told his dad he was going to be bigger than him by the time he gets home, but apparently they are feeding him cheeseburgers and pizza along with all the goodies he's getting in care packages so he now doesn't think he'll have bigger arms than his dad, but he'll have better abs! That kid cracks me up! He better watch out, I'm 100% sure that Kyler gets his competitiveness from his dad and Matt likes a challenge! Glad to see he hasn't lost his sense of humor! We miss him so much!:)

Peru MTC Pictures
Shauna found a blog that a couple started when they went on a mission to Peru. They included some pictures of the MTC in Peru, they call it the CCM campus. There was also a picture of the temple in Lima, Peru that I've attached as well. I thought it was cool to have an idea of what it is like where Kyler is headed to next. He leaves the Provo MTC one week from today!

News from Kyler
We got a letter from Kyler today! It sounds like he is starting to adjust and is doing well. He said he feels he is behind in his Spanish, but his teacher told him he doesn't think so. He said he got his flight plans as well. He leaves the Provo MTC on January 26th and flies to Atlanta, GA. After a 2 hour delay he is on to Peru. He said he will get there around midnight, he wasn't sure if that was Utah or Peru time. He says he is excited to move onto the Peru MTC.
He said he is receiving lots of letters from everyone and is loving it! He said he is working hard to reply to everyone in between his hectic schedule!

Email from Kyler!
I just got an email from Kyler today! Apparently Wednesday is his P-day! He was excited to see he had 14 messages waiting for him to read! He said he is only allowed 30 minutes of computer time and he said he had a few "novels" to read so he wasn't able to write everyone back. He said he is making the best of his time there and working on pictures for me, so maybe soon I'll have some to post:)
He also said that getting letters is great because he can get them everyday whereas email he can only check once a week.

Shipping International
I was just looking up shipping rates to Peru and Ecuador and it looks to be pretty pricey, not to mention a long list of items that are prohibited. I found some information on the USPS website and I've pasted the link below if any of you are interested.

Another Letter from Kyler
We got another letter from Kyler today! He said his second day was better than the first (was glad to hear that!). He got some gym time and said that was very nice. He also said that the MTC wasn't what he expected, and that they are cramming spanish down their throats LOL. They had them pray and bare their testimony in spanish class. He also said that there are 10 guys in his district and he was made district leader. He said his estimated leave date is January 26th.
He did say he got the package I sent through dearelder.com and was really excited to have something waiting for him in his box on his second day:)

Letter from Kyler!
I got home tonight, after spending 4 1/2 hours watching a wrestling tournament, to find a letter waiting in our mail box from Kyler!! I was so excited I could hardly wait for Matt to get home to open it. Of course after we read it I bawled...okay before I got done reading it I was already crying (Matt had teary eyes too!)
He said his first day was hard and that the next 9 weeks are going to be a challenge. He said he feels lonely and like a stranger. Oh and he also said that he wants his cell phone back lol! I have to say I would like him to have his cell phone too...I hate not being able to talk to him or text him to see how he is doing. He said on the brighter side he has a cool companion named Elder Altom, but his other 2 roommates are weird and nerdy. I hope I won't get in trouble for posting what he writes LOL, but you gotta love his honesty.
I'm sure he could use some words of encouragement. I hope you all will get a free minute to write him a note!
On another good note, Kolten won 1 of the 2 matches he wrestled tonight! Pinned the kid in the first round! It rocked! Definitely made 4 1/2 hours worth of sitting on hard bleachers worth it!
