Kyler sent some new pictures yesterday! It was so great to talk to Kyler on Christmas! He sounded like he was doing really good and we were so impressed with his Spanish! He speaks the language so well for being gone just under a year!We sure missed him at Christmas this year, but maybe he'll be home for the next one:)
A couple of weeks ago Kyler wrote his dad and I and told us that his
companion really needed a new pair of shoes because his were really worn out. So we sent Kyler some money so he could
buy him a new pair for Christmas:) From the looks of the pictures he
REALLY needed a new pair!

Change 8 Week 1
Hey! So this week we're only going to be online for about 45 minutes in total because I got to talk to pretty much everyone yesterday and I don't think that anyone is working or online to write me back so it shouldn't be a problem. Anyway, last week we only worked 5 days and so we didn't have a ton of time in my sector and we were in a trio and so this last week was especially not great. Although we did have a great day to rest and hang out, and after 8 months it was awesome to get to talk to everyone and hear some of my families voices. I'm doing good here with Elder Herrera still, they never called us with changes last night and so we're expecting that changes will be tomorrow. I don't think that I'm going to be leaving anytime soon seeing as I just got here and my companion has been here for 6 months. It would be kinda funny if I had to pack up and leave but I don't really want to. I hope that everyone had a great Xmas. I'm going to write a quick few emails and then send one out with some pics from what's been going on lately and maybe a video if it works of a new talent that I have been practicing. I love and miss you all and I wish you a happy new year this weekend! Love always ELDER WILSON

Change 7 Week 6
Hey! So this week was interesting, and it's a bit of a long story, but I will try to make it short. So on Monday night we got a call from the zone leaders and they told us that one of the missionaries here in Pasaje (there's only 4) had changes and seeing as there companionship didn't have a phone in their house we had to take them the message so the missionary could start packing. Anyway so me and my companion had to take and drop this missionary off to have his change and bring back the companion. We have been working in 2 sectors all week and in a trio all week because the 4th missionary hasn't arrived yet and so me and my companion, Elder Herrera, have been running all over with this other missionary to work in the 2 sectors and eat and take care of everything. It's been a lot of walking and I have lost a lot of time here in my sector because of it but we have still had a decent week and although we're going to be in this trio for Christmas it's not that big of a deal. We have changes coming next Monday and I'm hoping that we can get the new companion and continue working. We have been working hard to find a bunch of new people and get them ready for baptism by right around the middle of January. I felt really bad because this week we ended without a single person with a baptism date, and my district leader and zone leaders kinda were expecting some good results. They kinda made it clear that I need to work harder and improve our numbers for next week. We have changes next week and I don't think that I will be going anywhere, but anything is possible but if I stay or leave I want to leave this sector with a good strong program and what we are always supposed to do is leave the ward or branch better than when we got here. I think that my companion will be leaving and it will be the first time that I will get to receive a companion, but I don't know, it's not that big of a deal anymore. As for packages, I haven't gotten anything as for the stuff that I know you sent me for xmas. The last packages that I got were 2 from mom and one of them was from my birthday. I hope that we get mail this week, but honestly I don't know, yet I will wait anxiously. I hope that everything is good and that everyone is getting ready for xmas as I am not lol. I am here in the heat and it feels nothing like xmas but I wouldn't have it any other way. The last thing that I want is to be thinking a ton about what's going on at home and wanting to be there. Have a great xmas and I will literally be talking to you soon!! I love and miss you tons!! ELDER WILSON

Merry Christmas from Ecuador!
I had asked Kyler to send me a picture of him holding a sign that said "Merry Christmas from Ecuador" so that I could have it to send out with our Christmas cards this year, so he had this sign special made and sent this to me to send out:) It turned out great!
Change 7 Week 5
Hey! This week was a really good week and full of hard work looking for new people to teach and preparing the one baptism that we had. We were really happy to finish up a good week and now we're starting fresh and hoping for an even better week. We had a baptism this last week and it was really cool, it wasn't that big of a deal it was a 9 year old kid who had been going to church and just never got baptized. He pretty much knew all that we were going to teach him and it wasn't that much work. We had a little bit of a hard time finding new people, but yesterday thanks to members references and a lot of contacting we found new people and hopefully they come to progress. Me and Elder Herrera are doing good, anxiously awaiting both of our first Christmas' here in Ecuador and looking forward to a new year. I'm coming right in on having a year out of home and it seems crazy but it has been a good first year and I hope that 2012 will be even better. I got 2 packages from mom this Tuesday, one pre-Christmas and a box that was for my birthday. I still haven't seen anymore and I don't know if I will get all that has been sent before Christmas but I have learned how to be patient with the mail and so I'm not too worried. Me and my companion will be closed in our house for the 24th and 25th of December and we can only leave to call home and to go to church seeing as it's a Sunday this year. I am going to need to know what time I can call this Christmas that works for everyone, hopefully we can make it all work. I hope that you received and liked all the photos that I sent last week, let me know. I love and miss you all very much!!! ELDER WILSON

Change 7 Week 4
Hey! This week was pretty good, we had a baptism and it was awesome! We baptized a couple last week and they have a daughter who didn't end up being able to go to church with them there first Sunday in our program. The daughter was baptized and we were able to baptize their little family. It was even more special because the dad, who was baptized 2 weeks ago, was able to baptize his little girl, this doesn't happen very often and to do it was way cool!! I was super happy to have been able to know and teach them and get them ready for their baptism. This week we are going to have 1 more baptism and that should just about finish us up for this year, and then we will be getting lots of people ready for January. Me and Elder Herrera are doing good, we get along well and enjoy working together. We have had a little bit of trouble finding new investigators but we're working hard to talk to everyone and the members are starting to come through for us with the references. This week was an off week for mail which means that we will be getting mail tomorrow and I did the math and the next day will be the 20th of December. I hope that everything that has been sent gets here before the 20th, it will have to arrive the weekend before because the mail that we're going to receive tomorrow was sent from Guayaquil on Friday. I'm not sure if that made sense but I really hope that everything you sent makes it here but it's Ecuador and I can't really promise anything. I am doing good, I have been learning a lot in the little time that I have had as senior companion. It seems like Elder Herrera has taught me more than I have been able to teach him. We had 2 days of trainings this week with the senior companions that are working out side of Guayaquil and it was cool because I got to go and listen to President Montalti and learn about what we can do to help the people we're teaching. Well I hope that everything is going well for you in the states! I love and miss you tons!!! ELDER WILSON

Change 7 Week 3
Hey! This week was really a good week for me and Elder Herrera. We worked a lot with the a family to get them ready for their baptism and on Saturday night we had 2 baptisms! It was awesome and the parents of the couple that got baptized even bought and shared cake with everyone at the baptism service! We're going to baptize their 11 year old girl this Saturday and complete their family, we're really excited also because the dad was confirmed and received the priesthood this Sunday and he is going to baptize his little girl this weekend. It was a really good week but a lot of work with the baptism interviews and getting everything ready and so it was really good to get to rest today and we even had a little activity with a ward family that lives close to the house.
Last week I received 5 packages and one of them was from the Frehner family from our ward in Las Vegas and they sent me a bunch of food flavors to cook with and so this week me and my companion and a family from the ward made tacos and it was soo good!!! We just actually finished it up and I am stuffed, I ate like 6 tacos and it was awesome! I got a packages with a camera from dad and Nat and was able to take a bunch of pictures thus far with the baptism and the activity. I got 2 packages from mom and they were filled with candy and pens, which is always appreciated and the last package that I got was from Luke and was filled with tons of my favorite candy. It was a really great week and I was soo glad to get some awesome things from home. I know that there are still some packages on the way and I will wait anxiously for them and keep you up to date as for when they get to me. I hope that all is well with you at home in the United States. I love and miss you very much!! ELDER WILSON

Change 7 Week 2
Hey! So this last week I had a good bday, I got changed on Tuesday morning to a little tiny city really far away from my last sector. I'm no longer in Guayaquil but I do have some good news,I'm now senior companion, and working in a city called Pasaje. Me and Elder Tobar had a really good pday and were planning for Tuesday when the phone rang and they said that I had to pack up and move to a new sector, so I stayed up late packing and getting all my things ready. On Tuesday morning I went to the terminal and they sent me off to a new zone outside of Guayaquil and moved me up to senior companion. I have been working hard here with my first junior companion who is a really tall Colombian named Elder Herrera, we get along well and are having a good time working together. As for Wednesday I did treat myself to some different food, me and Elder Herrera went and got some pizza and then an ice cream and it was really good. Although none of my packages have made it to me yet, don't worry I know that they will be delivered to me tomorrow, the zone leaders said that they were sent Saturday and that they will get here today and I will have them in my hands tomorrow. I'm hoping that they all made it so I don't have to wait a ton more time. Where I am it's still in the coast so it's still super hot but it's not as hot as Guayaquil so I'm happy. I like it here and am doing really well, we're going to have 3 baptisms this week and are looking forward to having a great 2 months working together. I love and miss you tons!! ELDER WILSON
I just thought I would let you all know that Kyler also mentioned in a separate email to me that now that he has moved, mail could take even longer to get to him. He said once the mail makes it to Guayaquil from there they send it on a bus that takes 3 days to get to him:( Hopefully his Christmas will get to him in time!

Change 7 Week 1
Hey! Happy Monday! Well this week was pretty decent and average, nothing all that special or out of the ordinary. Although, last night we had a really great time with a ward family that wanted to do something special for my birthday, they threw me a birthday party because today we were supposed to have changes and we didn't know if we were going to be here so we celebrated early. Last night we were supposed to find out if one of us was getting changed but the president hasn't made the changes so me and Elder Tobar will be together for who knows how much longer maybe a couple days. I'm not sure what's going to happen but I really hope that I get to stay here in my sector because this change goes until Christmas and it will be way cool if I can stay here with the people that I know for my bday and Christmas. I am super sad to report that I have yet to receive anything from home as for packages. I don't know why or what has been going on with the office missionaries and why they haven't gone to get mail but there is nothing that I can do seeing as I am not an office elder. I have been bugging the elder who collects mail and every day he tells me he is going to go for mail and then doesn't so I don't know what else I can do but be patient. I am bummed but don't worry I am sure that they will make it here soon. We are looking forward to having 2 baptisms this weekend and so this week will be busy preparing the people for baptism and getting the baptismal service prepared and all that. I hope that everyone is doing well and thanks for everything that you do! I love and miss you tons!! ELDER WILSON

Change 6 Week 6
Hey! So this week we have been good, working full and enjoying the time that we have together learning from one another. Me and Elder Tobar have actually been able to get close over our time here and I know that it will be a friendship that will last longer than both of our missions. He has taught me more than I could have imagined, and we have changed a lot of lives in the process of our time together. Anyway this last week we had a good week, we prepared a baptism service on Saturday and mid day called the bishop to see if he was going to be able to attend, but to our surprise he told us that we should wait on the baptism when not everyone is out of town and so the girl has more time to prepare. It was a little disappointing because we were really excited to have a baptism but after all it's not too bad because we know that the bishop has a say in his ward and it will give us an opportunity to prepare her better. We're super excited to start week 6 of our second change together. Today we have had to clean our house because we weren't able to do it in past weeks due to sleeping, but this morning we cleaned hard core and it looks a lot better. I haven't received any packages lately because the Ecuador mail has been closed all week due to a week long holiday. It opened up today and so I'm not sure when I'm going to get my mail but I hope it's soon! Other than that nothing much has been going on, everything is just the same and we're loving the work and all the people that we're teaching and working with. I love and miss you very much!! Change 6 Week 5 (Halloween)
Hey! So this week was pretty good, we are pretty much kickin butt with our weekly lessons and how many people we are bringing to church. We currently have 10 people with a baptism date for the month of November, which is exciting and we're hoping that we can have some baptism services this month. Today is Halloween and I'm super excited to see what the people here do for this holiday. The kids don't have school all week and it's actually the longest vacation they get in the entire year, longer than Christmas and so everyone goes out of town!! It's been hard to set up appointments because everyone is going to visit their family in the mountains or going to the beach. It's going to be a tough week for working but the holiday should be fun to experience. Unfortunately my Halloween packages arrived a little early and I didn't wait to eat all the food that was inside so I am left without candy this Halloween but that's my own fault I guess lol. Anyway things are good here with me and Elder Tobar. We're expecting a transfer, one of us is going to get changed we're sure in 2 weeks but we're just going to try and enjoy the time that we have left working. He will for sure be one of my good friends from the mission. As of this past Saturday he is the companion that I have been with for the longest period of time, he out lasted my trainer Elder Johnson. This week I didn't get any mail, and I don't think that anything has yet arrived from the packages that I have heard have been sent. I will keep waiting and hopefully they all make it before my bday. Anyway, I love and miss you tons and hope that everything is going well in the states!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! from Ecuador! ELDER WILSON

Change 6 Week 4
Hey! So this week was pretty normal nothing out of the ordinary. We have been working super hard to teach a ton of lessons and get people progressing. This weekend we had ward conference and that was a little interesting because they changed the meeting schedule around on us which was about the only thing that made this week different from any other. This week I got a little sick and I'm not really sure why or what I had I just felt nauseous and I got to sleep a whole day and it was way nice to catch up on some rest. I slept and then was just fine and I don't want anyone to worry because I am perfectly fine, I think it was just something that I ate, but I am perfectly fine. Anyway, I am looking forward to getting out of October and one more month closer to the end of the year so I can reach that 1 year mark finally. Although the time has gone by fast as crap! Me and Elder Tobar are doing good, he's just about as excited for my birthday as I am because he gets to share what comes in my packages! We're hoping that we get to be companions for more time, but with a lack of baptisms that's not all that likely. I am not sure what's going to happen in a couple of weeks, but maybe it will be my turn to move up and be senior companion. They say that the junior companion just has to follow and sometimes I feel like I'm just following Elder Tobar around and doing what he tells me to do, but I want to see what's going to happen when I get to make the calls and get the credit for what we do here in the sector. Anyway, I hope that everyone is doing well and is safe and happily awaiting the holiday season as I am. I love and miss you very much ELDER WILSON.

Change 6 Week 3
Hey! This week was pretty average but we are improving with our lessons and new investigators, just have a lack of baptisms. Me and Elder Tobar have been working really hard to teach and prepare the people for baptism but in the end it all comes down to them and whether they're willing to change or not. I am doing good, getting a little chubby but I'm also trying to figure out how I can burn the most calories within the 4 walls of my tiny apartment. I have started to eat better, we found a sweet little fruit store close to our house and the fruit here is amazing seriously I love it!! I have been improving my Spanish every time that I speak, it seems that when I am thinking a million miles per hour I make lots of mistakes trying to keep up with the translation. All around I'm doing good and really enjoying my second change or second 6 weeks with Elder Tobar. We're pretty sure that one of us is going to have a change in the next few weeks. I'm really hoping that I get to stay because that will mean that I will be here for my bday and Christmas. One more change and 2011 is gone!!! Wow I can't believe that time has gone by soo fast, but I am really looking forward to starting a new year and experience what Ecuador is like in the summer! I hope that all is well with everyone in the states! I love and miss you tons!! ELDER WILSON

Change 6 Week 2
Hey! So this week was a good start for us this change. We had a couple
weeks that were really just down right bad for us when my companion was sick
and yesterday we ended up having the best weekly numbers in the zone.
Not that we're prideful or anything because we still haven't had any
baptisms in a while, but were starting to get some help from the ward
members and finding the people in their house when we have scheduled
appointments is always nice. Me and Elder Tobar ended up with more then
25 lessons taught last week, and we found 11 new people to teach. The Spanish is improving, I found that when I actually study Spanish that I
really can understand why I'm saying what I'm saying where as before I was
just saying what I heard because it's what all the Latins say. Last week
on Monday me and
my companion did get to go shopping, but we were rushed because we didn't want
to spend our whole day there, so today we're heading back to get some
things and then we're probably going to sleep the day away. I know that
sounds like a huge waste of a p day but my companion doesn't sleep well
at night because of his back and so he wants to get some shut eye this
afternoon. I am going to write some letters while he's sleeping seeing
as it's been a while since I have written home, which I should apologize,
it's just difficult to make time sometimes. I really hope that
everything is going great! I love and miss you tons!! Thanks for
everything! I didn't end up getting any boxes or letters this week if
your wondering. Sorry. ELDER WILSON

Change 6 Week 1 & Pictures!
Hey!
So good news, I didn't have a change today me and Elder Tobar are still here in La Floresta working and I'm super excited to not have a new companion or sector for the first time since I was with my trainer and even that didn't even last. Last week was good, we didn't have that great of numbers because we pretty much lost a day and a half of work watching conference, although it was nice to get to sit and relax and just listen to the conference. It was pretty cool, I actually understood what everyone was saying which I can't say the same for the last conference in April. On Sunday we had a little complication because the electricity went out in the stake center where we went to watch the conference so we all had to go to a different stake center and if you can imagine 2 full stakes of people in one building. It was really full but we enjoyed the Sunday morning session the same. I hope that everything is going well in the states. I love and miss you tons!! ELDER WILSON

Change 5 Week 6
Hey!
How is everything? This week has been a lot better than the past couple because we were able to get out and work just about the whole week. We have people with baptism dates right now and we are really hoping that we can stay working together and get them all progressing more. Elder Tobar is doing a lot better and I'm doing really good. Tomorrow I'm going to get some of the things that I lost bought or ordered. I finally got the number for the guy that made my original backpack and he's going to meet up with us tomorrow. Anyway, not that much different, I have been doing really well. I realized that I have gained a little weight and so I'm going to try to start working out again, hopefully I can get some muscle back. It's crazy to think that I'm going to be starting my 6th change this next week. This is week 6 for us and so this next Monday we have changes and I have no idea what's going to happen, but I'm hoping that I don't have a change. That seems to be all that I do is pack up and change and maybe now it's my turn to stay in a sector that I know of. Anyway, I hope that everything is going well. I love and miss you very much. Today I will be online for a couple hours if you wanna chat!
Love you ELDER WILSON

Change 5 Week 5
Hey!
This week has been pretty boring, not much has been going on just the usual missionary work. Today has been a little weird and I'm sorry that I'm on so late, we have had an off P day but everything is still going well. We're still not sure what's going to happen with Elder Tobar, but we're just going to keep working to teach and baptize. I got my 2 new cards in the mail this week along with a couple of letters from Brother Cooper, Sister Moore and my long lost sister in Chicago, Ashley. It was pretty cool to get some hand written stuff from the fam and some ward friends. I hope that everything is going good for work and family. I don't have a ton of time today, but I will try to respond to everyone's email.
I love and miss you tons!! ELDER WILSON

Change 5 Week 4 & New Pics!!
Hey! Today is the start of week 4 here in La Floresta for me and Elder Tobar. We didn't get to work that much this week because my companion has
had appointment after appointment in the hospital and we have been
really busy going to and from. My companion has a interview with
president tomorrow and I think that he's going to get sent home to have surgery, but who knows. I am going to keep working like normal and just
look on the bright side of everything. This week I got a package of
pictures from Nat and a letter from Brother Cooper in Vegas, still no
cards have showed up, but I'm not that worried I know that mail is slow
and I have been learning how to live off of basically nothing so I am
used to it. Last night we had a meeting with Elder Uceda from the
quorum of the 70 and it was pretty cool to learn from him, other than
that nothing all that exciting has been going on. I miss and love you
very much!! ELDER WILSON
Hey! These are some pictures that Elder Tobar and I took thus far in our time here. I'm sorry its been so long since I've sent new pictures, but I don't have a camera. Anyway, I hope you like these pics I have them on a disc just in case something happens with Elder Tobar. Enjoy! I love and miss you!! ELDER KYLER WILSON

Change 5 Week 3
Hey! So last week was a good week full of work and it's starting to pay
off! We are both new in this sector and don't know much of the people, but
we worked really hard and found a bunch of people who are less active
and some new investigators and are starting to see progress in the
sector. We had 2 baptisms this last Saturday and it went really well. I baptized one and a member baptized the other. Right now we are doing
really well together and I am super excited to continue working with Elder Tobar because I know that he is going to teach me a lot about to
how be obedient and a leader. I am pretty sure that I am only going to
be with him for one change and that's not what I would prefer but it's how
things work. How is everything going in the united states? I haven't received any mail since grandma's package and the 2 envelopes from mom just
in case you are wondering if i had received anything. I will be on for a
little while, but I can't promise that I will be online for a ton of time
because this is a little bit of a funky Pday for us. I love and miss
you very much!! ELDER WILSON

New Picture!!
Kyler sent a picture of him and his new companion Elder Tobar.
Kyler emailed me and said, "My new companion is a work horse and loves serving people! He came here to work with me because he was in Loja and couldn't climb the huge hills there. He has 3 hernias in his back and it hurts him to walk, but that doesn't stop him and I am really glad to be here with him. He was good friends with my trainer as well. We're looking forward to 2 baptisms this weekend and are getting to know our sector more and more every day!

Change 5 Week 2
Hi!
Well this week was really interesting. Last Monday I got changed to work in a different sector and all together a different zone here in Guayaquil. I was with Elder Calderon and he was not too bad, but I quickly found out that he was super lazy. The phone rang on Thursday morning and the zone leaders told my companion that he had a change and that I was going to have a new companion. I had a total of 2 days working in this sector. I was told that I had to pack a bag because I was going to be staying with the zone leaders for a little bit because my new companion still hadn't gotten here yet. That made me happy and a little scared at the same time, because I didn't know who my companion was going to be, but I was super happy that my current companion at the time was leaving because we didn't get much done and he was just always talking about how much he wanted to go home. He left Thursday mid day and I was with the zone leaders for all of that day and Friday we had to go to the mission home to get my new companion. He had come in from Loja and was sick, but he is AWESOME!! His name is Elder Tobar and he is from Chile and he is a really hard worker. I was so happy when I found out that he has had a successful mission and doesn't like wasting time. There is a ton that I can learn from my new companion and even though we have walked around a ton because neither one of us know this sector we are having a great time and really have a lot of hopes for this ward. As for last week, the mission did help me out by getting me a new backpack and a set of scriptures and a little bit of money to last me until I get my new card. I will be just fine until I can get some cash from home and buy another backpack and scriptures and cases etc. Overall I am doing great REALLY and I appreciate everything that you did for me to get me some money. I will wait anxiously for letters and or packages! Thanks so much for all that you do! Today I will not be on for that long because my companion and I have plans to get out and see Guayaquil and we're going to take pics with his camera and I will pass them onto a flash drive when I have one. Please don't worry about me here. I'm working hard and having a great time with Elder Tobar!! I love and miss you tons!! ELDER WILSON

Change 5 Week 1
Hey,
As you probably already know, last night me and my companion got robbed and I don't want to make it a big deal because I am just fine. They didn't hurt me or my companion. We had left to go say goodbye to some members after I had packed up all my stuff and when we got back we saw that they had gotten in through the sliding glass doors. They went through my stuff and took my valuable things. I have been thinking about what I lost and I am compiling a small list of things, but i don't want you to worry about me because they are just things. It really sucks and pretty much hurts that I have to lose so much and things that I can't even replace like the pictures, but I will be alright here and I can go without at least until somehow we can figure something out to replace some things. I completely understand if we don't end up replacing certain things because I am learning to live with less and less. It's going to be hard to live on just what the mission gives me, but I will survive. I really wish things like this didn't have to happen, but there is nothing I can do about it but learn from it.
Anyway some news, I got changed and now I am working with another companion from Guatemala. I actually already had met him from a conference that we had earlier this year and although we don't have a lot in common, I'm going to make the best of it. My old companion, Elder Garcia, is training and I'm super excited for him! I hope that soon it will be my turn to be senior companion and I will be the one leading the sector and giving the orders. Anyway, I would love to know what's been going on with you in the States, I can't wait to hear back from everyone!! ELDER WILSON

Just an FYI,
Kyler called both Shauna and I this morning to let us know what had happened so that we could get things on our end taken care of for him. Shauna contacted the Mission Home and the Mission President as well, to get everything sorted out and to make sure he gets what he needs from them as well. I have talked with both Shauna and Connie about getting what we can replaced for Kyler and getting it sent to him as soon as we can. He sounded good when I talked to him and he just wanted to reassure us that he was just fine and not to worry:) I know he was sad about some of the stuff that was taken, like his pictures and scriptures, but he had such a positive attitude about the situation. He's such a great kid and his strength and positive attitude never ceases to amaze me:)

Change 4 Week 6
Hey!
This week was pretty normal. Not that much different or out of the ordinary. Me and Elder Garcia are here enjoying what could be our last P day together. I'm hoping that we stay working together for more time, but he kinda wants to leave this sector because he has been here longer than me and wants a change. To me it doesn't matter because the work is the same and I really want to be stable and settle down whereas I can get to know the sector, the members, and the people really well. I always hear about people that spent 6 or 8 months in the same sector, that's pretty much what I want, but from what I have seen thus far the president likes to change me so I don't know what's going to happen or where I'm going to end up. Today we didn't get permission to leave, so we will be staying here in La Toma and spending lots of time on the computers because there's nothing else to do and it's super hot so we're going to enjoy the air conditioning. I hope that everything is good in the US. Write me and let me know how things are going!! I love and miss you tons!! ELDER WILSON

Week 5 Change 4
Hey! Not much to say because like every other week nothing has changed. Me and Elder Garcia are still here working hard. A little bit of news about the packages and me getting charged, I am going to continue to get charged, but it's not going to be $10 or really even close to it. They are going to charge me exactly what Ecuador charges them every time a package comes in which is like $2 or $3. This week I received a package from Grandma Connie and I'm really not sure at all how I got it because it was about 5 and a half pounds and didn't have a green sticker, but somehow I got it! It had a bunch of great goodies and stuff in it!! Summer is coming to an end for just about everyone in the states and it's pretty much getting colder here. I love and miss you tons! ELDER WILSON
Kyler sent me an email saying how awesome it is that his family takes the time to send him packages and letters and how grateful he is to have such an awesome family. He said that Grandma Connie sent him some very useful items that he would never have thought to ask for and that he already has eaten the 3 bags of beef jerky she sent! LOL He says she is great and he's really appreciates the time she took to put everything together to send him a box of goodies!

New Rule/Regulation
Hi there,
I just wanted to let those of you who send packages to Kyler know that there is now a $10 fee deducted from his montly income for every package he receives. This is in addition to the postage we already pay. Because of this recent change, we will be depositing $10 into his account when we send packages so that he isn't out that extra money.
If you are interested in doing the same you can contact Shauna for his account information. Thanks!

Change 4 Week 4
Hey! So another week down! Last week we didn't have a baptism because no one went to church with us the Sunday before and if the investigators don't go to church they can't get baptized. Although we had two people attend church this Sunday with us and they will both be baptized this Saturday. We are super excited to have a good week. Not much is different, I'm still in the same sector working and sweating like normal. How is life going for you back in the states? We don't have anything else to do for the rest of the day so if you want to chat I will be on for awhile. Love and miss you tons!! ELDER WILSON

Week 3 Change 4
Sorry this is late getting posted!
Hey! I'm online a little early today but I'm going to be on for a lot longer because we didn't get permission to leave our sector to go to the mall.. Here in Guayaquil everyone is celebrating "Parties of Guayaquil" is what they call it and all the kids are out of school and no one has to work. It's pretty much a huge holiday where people either go to the beach or stay at home and drink and so because of that it's dangerous and we have to stay in our sector. It's not that big of a deal for me, for more time on the computer I would stay in my sector every week if I could. Well we had a baptism this last Saturday, I now have 10 baptisms! I took a bunch of pictures with the 11 year old kid that we baptized. We are going to baptize his grandpa on the 6th of July, he has a little problem getting to church on Sunday's. Other than the baptism nothing really new, I'm still here working with my Guatemalan companion Elder Garcia and were working well together. He's teaching a lot of the ways that he likes to teach. I hope you are doing really well!! I love and miss you tons!! ELDER WILSON
Kyler sent me another email as well. Here's a little of what he had to say.
Hey so I got your package this Wednesday!! I was soo excited and I have already got to use the Chalula and it took me all of about 3 days to eat all the jerky. Latinos don't like beef jerky which I was excited to find out because that only meant more for me lol!! It was soo awesome and I also got a letter from you!! I was soo happy. Thanks soo much!! Oh ya and the ranch didn't come with instructions and I have no idea how to make it. Can you maybe send me a little instructions because I don't know how to make it lol.
Our chapel is really small which is lame because I came from one of the biggest most rich areas in Guayaquil with a huge stake center that had air conditioning and awesome members and now I'm in a poor area where the chapel is tiny. Only the rich people have air conditioning here which means almost everyone does not have air conditioning.
Wow can you believe that it was about 7 months ago that we were all going to the airport? That's nothing compared to 24 months but it's a start and time for sure isn't in slow motion.
I want to thank you for everything that you do!! I REALLY appreciate all the packages and letters that you have sent me and I wanted to say thanks!!! It's awesome to have great family at home thinking of me. I love you and think of you all the time. I hope that things are going great for you and dad and Mooz in Cedar!! I love and miss you tons!! Update Cont.
Kyler sent me an email that said the time is flying by for him. He said he gets sad when he thinks of home too much, but he is so busy there with his work and Spanish that it keeps his mind occupied most of the time. He says his Spanish is pretty good and coming along, but he's still not that good at it. He also said that he is getting our letters and packages, but it's slow and it all depends on when his zone leaders decide to go to the post office to pick them up. He said he is still suffering having to take cold showers and hasn't been able to get used it, but because they have no hot water he doesn't have much of a choice! LOL Poor kid:(
Week 2 Change 4
Hey!! So another week down here in Guayaquil. This week went by really fast and it didn't end up being as good as we thought it would be. We had a goal of 3 baptisms because we had a family of 3 that was really ready. As it turns out the father lives in Spain and wants to be here for his kids baptisms and so we didn't get the permission and only ended up having one baptism. We are really working hard here but a lot of times it's hard to walk all the days because when we don't have lessons we are walking either contacting or looking for someone that is an old investigator. That's when days go by slow and it's not very much fun. So what we have been trying to do it figure out how to avoid walking in the sun for 4 hours every day and that is by having appointments and lessons set up. I never really realized what it would be like here until I came and really got the feel for the heat and the horrible humidity. It's not that easy to get used to and actually I recently found out that it's actually winter here. We're in the coldest part of the year. For some reason it's just about the opposite of what I have seen my whole life. Right now it's cold (or for the people here it is) and in December and January it's hot. I'm really not sure how but I'm sure that I don't really want to be here for the summer. A lot of my clothes are suffering from sweat but I think that they will be able to hold out the whole 2 years.
How is everything in the states?? I love and miss you tons!! ELDER WILSON
